1. The Indian Gooseberry

Popularly known as the “Amla”, the Indian Gooseberry is considered as the cure for many health conditions, like driving dandruff away, strengthens hair and conditions your hair. It also cures other problems like indigestion and it is extremely rich in Vitamin C. So, here is the amla hair mask recipe.

Ingredients needed:

Amla powder: 1 cup (Give or take depending on your hair length)
Water

Mix amla powder and water to make a thick paste, apply this evenly to your hair and let it sit for 30 mins before washing it off with a mild shampoo. You can use the fresh amla juice for the same purpose.

Shikakai is another brilliant thing that helps your hair to grow and rejuvenate it. It is full of antioxidants, vitamin C and it locks the moisture in your hair. It is devoid of any harsh substances that may cause harm to your hair. Hence, protecting your hair and not stripping it down with any of the natural oils.

Ingredients

Shikakai powder – 1 Cup (Give or take depending on your hair length)
Water

Mix the shikakai powder with water to make a thick paste. Let it sit for 30 minutes before washing it off. Shikakai gives lather, so this hair mask doesn’t need a shampoo!

Of Course, how can we forget this magical shrub? Aloevera is basically a xerophyte that stores water in its stem (yeah, the leaf like structure is a morphed stem) and it is extremely hydrating for both skin and hair.

Ingredients needed :

Aloevera gel/fresh aloevera – 1 cup (Give or take depending on your hair length)
Castor  oil – Three to Four Tablespoons

Mix the aloe vera gel and the castor oil together. Apply it evenly to your hair, along the hair length and at the tips too. Let the hair mask stay for overnight for better results. Wash it off in the morning with a mild shampoo!

Neem has many medicinal values. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties and it is used to cure many skin irritations. Neem drives away dandruff and other scalp infections and irritations.

Ingredients needed :

Neem paste – 1 cup (Give or take depending on your hair length)
Olive oil – Three to Four Tablespoons

You can even add fresh neem leaves to the hot olive oil or coconut oil, wait till they turn dark, remove the blackened leaves and store the oil. You can use this oil on your hair on daily basis!

Bhringraj literally translates to “The King Of Hair”, and it very well deserves it’s name. It helps  in reversing baldness, hair growth, premature graying, and conditions your hair. It has calming effects and a massage with this oil will make insomniacs sleep better.

Bhringraj paste : 1 cup (Give or take depending on your hair length)

Apply the paste evenly to your hair all along the length till the tips. Let the hair mask sit for an hour before washing it off with a mild shampoo. Say hello to long lustrous locks.
